Words, Music, Body, Soul

Today I had the good fortune to visit Trowbridge Town Hall in Wiltshire at a pivotal moment.

Once a symbol of civic history, the building is now being thoughtfully reimagined to reflect the vibrancy and ambitions of the future. This is a new beginning for a much-loved building – one that balances the responsibility of heritage with a forward-thinking vision for the people of Trowbridge. As Alan Wright, the project’s passionate Director, beautifully puts it: “Words, music, body and soul. In no particular order.”

I spent the day with the project team and key members of staff, leading them through our interior design proposals for the building’s revitalisation. Our role in this transformation is clear : we are working to create a space that is welcoming and accessible to everyone. Our focus is on designing environments that encourage interaction, dialogue, and a genuine sense of belonging for all visitors.

We also got the opportunity to walk around the site and look at some (very nearly) completed areas where our colour palette and material choices are coming to life.

While we are here to discuss furniture options, material selections, lighting, and spatial layouts, what we’re truly aiming for is something much deeper: to ensure every design choice contributes to a warm, inclusive environment that feels comfortable and inviting—not just for today, but for generations to come.
