2024: A Year of Growth, Creativity and Collaboration

🌟 As we head into 2025, we’d like to take a moment to be grateful for the many wonderful people and projects who have made 2024 so rewarding for studio three sixty.

Here are some of our highlights:

🎨 In January, we met many of the artists who responded to our Open Call for Theatr Clwyd’s new home, alongside Haworth Tompkins. Over 120 applications led to seven artist commissions who will engage with local communities, archives, and surroundings. You can meet the commissioned artists in an earlier post here.

🌷 Early Spring was a big moment for Lucy, opening her first show for the Royal Shakespeare Company at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford. A Midsummer Night’s Dream went on to transfer to the Barbican Centre in Autumn 2024 and is running until January 2025.

🍺 In March, we began working with Big Penny and Unknown Works on a versatile events space for their taproom and community hub in Walthamstow, London.

🔥 In April, we attended the UK Aufguss Championships at Galgorm Hotel, Northern Ireland. Aufguss is a show… in a sauna! We were delighted (and rather warm!) spectators. Thank you to the British Sauna Society for inviting us to attend.

🎭 In Spring, Charterhouse School broke ground on their new studio theatre. We’re proud to be the theatre consultants for this amazing new facility, working alongside David Morley Architects and an incredible team including acousticians Gillieron Scott Acoustic Design.

🎉 Summer marked ten years of Roundabout at the Edinburgh Festival, with Jude Rogers capturing this milestone in a wonderful article about its beginnings with Paines Plough alongside the commissioning artistic directors James Grieve and George Perrin. You can read Jude’s article here.

🤝 In October, we headed to the Theatres Trust Conference at The Lowry in Salford, connecting with friends and colleagues to exchange ideas about we can champion the vital role theatre buildings can play in our communities and cultural life.

🏛 We ended the year strong onsite at Trowbridge Town Hall with Plann to check on progress with this exciting redevelopment.

🔥 We also officially began a hugely exciting new project in Gothenburg, Sweden – more of which to come in early 2025!

✨ Reflecting back on this year we feel very grateful for the wide range and diversity of the projects we have had the fortune to work on in 2024. From public art to theatre design to theatre consultancy to finding ways to indulge our ongoing love of sauna in a professional capacity (the dream!) – what a diverse year 2024 has been.

And of course the true joy lies in our relationships with the people, artists and collaborators who challenge us and inspire us every single day.

🌟 Roll on 2025!
